1 person killed in an explosion which occurred in the township area of Lahore.

According to sources, five people were injured in the blast while the Serat-e- NABI (PBUH) conference was to be held at the place of the blast.

The deceased was identified as Hafiz Mehmood.

According to preliminary information, the police officials have reached the spot while the blast site has also been cordoned off.

Rescue officials say dead body of the deceased and injured have been shifted to Jinnah Hospital.

CCPO Lahore Zulfiqar Hameed contended that a fridge exploded due to gas leakage while the explosion took place near the stage of Serat-e- NABI (PBUH) conference at the auditorium.
