PIA fines Passenger for smoking during flight

Pakistan International Airline (PIA) has imposed  heavy fine on its passenger during a flight from Islamabad to London.

According to the details,  crew members of the national airline of Pakistan had caught a passenger smoking during flight, he was traveling in flight number PK 792.

Passenger identified as Raza Hussain was found smoking cigarette in Aircraft lavatory, passengers  on the flight noticed the smoke and  informed crew members.

Crew members found the the passenger smoking. Crew seized the instrument used for violation (Cigarettes and lighter) and also confiscated the passport of the passenger.

PIA administration charged him fine of Pak rupees 10 thousand for for violating international  aviation rules for passenger.

Later on , his passport was returned to him after paying the fine at Islamabad international airport.

Whereas internal FAA regulations call for maximum $25,000 fines for smoking on planes and distracting crews, several incidents involving cigarettes in lavatories resulted in fines of $500 or less.
