Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi said, Turkey has opened the door for citizenship which is sure to benefit from this facility and we should not object to it.

According to the details, talking to the media in Istanbul, Foreign Minister SMQ said, illegal immigration is a cause for concern and for this Pakistan, Iran and Turkey will have to sit together and think about this issue.

The Foreign Minister said, some people bring others here by raising false hope and then leave them helpless. We also have to pay attention on this matter.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi also said that as far as the Heart of Asia Conference is concerned, it was a very good for me. I represented Pakistan at the Heart of Asia Conference and presented Pakistan’s position.

The Foreign Minister said that the Istanbul declaration which came out at the end of the Heart of Asia Conference is very comprehensive, including 49 paragraphs. We agreed on seven confidence-building points and Insha’Allah will call a meeting of regional technical groups in future.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi also said that peace and stability of Afghanistan is in our interest, while Pakistan will also convene a meeting on environment and agriculture in 2020.

FM to discuss Afghan Peace Process in Turkey

Earlier, Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi met Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan during the Heart of Asia Conference in Istanbul.

Foreign Minister shared the best wishes to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the behalf of Pakistani leadership while bilateral relations and situation in the region were also discussed during the meeting.

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi specially thanked to the Turkish President for hosting and warmly welcoming the Heart of Asia Conference.
