Blast in Quetta: 2 dead, several injured

A blast jolted Bacha Khan Chowk Quetta the capital of Balochistan, leaving eleven injured and two dead.

Police sources say the blast occurred near police van in which several people were injured, while some of them were in critical condition.

Rescue sources say the injured have been shifted to the hospital for medical help.

According to hospital sources, one of the injured is reported to be in critical condition.

Emergency has been imposed at Quetta Civil Hospital and doctors and paramedical staff have been summoned.

Chairman Senate Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani strongly condemned the blast on Quetta, and said that terrorists could not succeed in their malicious plans by sabotaging the country’s law and order.

Chairman Senate called the bombing a cowardly act of terrorists and a defeatist mentality.

The Chairman Senate also expressed condolences to the victims of the blast and also prayed for early recovery of the injured.

Deputy Chairman Senate Senator Saleem Mandviwala, Senator Shibli Faraz and Raja Muhammad Zafarul Haq also strongly condemned the Quetta blast.
