The Compressed Natural Gas stations in Sindh closed again for the next 36 hours.

As per details, gas supply to filling stations of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) stations across Sindh including Karachi suspended for 36 hours.

Spokesperson of Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) said gas supply to CNG station across Sindh suspended at 8:00 pm on Sunday that would be restored at 8 am on Tuesday.

The SSGC sources said that gas supply CNG stations remained open in the province from 8:00 am on Sunday for 12 hours.

The SSGC says domestic users will have to wait some more time before gas supply increased.

SSGC’s General Manager of Distribution Saeed Ahmed Larik said supply from the Rehman, Ayesha and Amna gas fields will be started soon.

This will end the shortage, he said.

The Rehman gas fields will start supplying gas to the city after January 10 while the Ayesha and Amna fields will begin supplying gas at the end of January.

The shortage has caused lots of problems for people.

Public transport has been severely affected and commuters are forced to pay increased fares.

Domestic users of gas also troubled due to the reduced gas supply.

Low gas pressure at their houses made it difficult to cook or use geysers to heat water.

The CNG Dealers Association president also sought a meeting with Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah to discuss the issues facing the industry owing to a shortage of gas.

On the other hand, met department has predicted rise in cold in Karachi and other parts of Sindh, which has raised alarming situation for more gas crisis in the province.
