Government establishing green belts along motorways, Zartaj Gul

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between National Highway Authority (NHA) and National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) for Olive Tree Plantation along the Highways in the country.

According to the details while addressing the signing ceremony in Islamabad today, Minister of State for Climate Change Zartaj Gul said the government is taking concrete measures to address challenges arising out of Climate change in the country.

She said the government is establishing green belts along motorways in collaboration with National Highway.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Communications and Postal Services, Murad Saeed said Green and Clean Pakistan is a vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan, and the government is taking practical measures to materialize this vision.

Earlier, Minister of State for Climate Change Zartaj Gul has said that elaborate steps are being taken to overcome smog and to ensure a clean environment in the country.

In a recent statement, Zartaj Gul said that said brick kiln owners will be given the training to produce bricks using technologies that are environment-friendly and clean.

She said loans at soft terms will be given to the owners to help them shift to new technologies.
