Gunmen kills 5 in Sheikhupura

At least five people killed in firing by Unidentified armed Sheikhupura’s area of Safdarabad.

According to the local police, unidentified armed men, who riding motorbike opened indiscriminate firing over a vehicle near Sethwala, resulting in the death of five people.

The deceased on their way for a court appearance, when they armed men attacked them.

Its pertinent to mention that the clash claimed 12 lives so far, and few days earlier, two members of a family shot dead over the dispute.

The deceased identified as Khurram, Shahid, Shakkoor, Akram and Shahnawaz.

The bodies moved to the hospital, while further investigation into the matter was underway, said the police.

In a separate incident Police have recovered huge cache of arms, ammunition and arrested two arm dealers.

Police Station Chuntra during routine checking stopped suspected vehicles and recovered 36 pistols 30 bore, three Kalashnikovs, one rifle 12 bore and magazines and arrested two dealers identified as Sabir Khan and Aziz ur Rehman.

Police also confiscated vehicles carrying the illegal weapons.

City Police Officer (CPO) Muhammad Ahsan Younas appreciated the performance of the officials adding that no one would  allowed to carry out illegal activity and strict action would taken against the anti-social elements.
