Adviser to the PM on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam said that The scenic Hunza Valley has become Pakistan’s first plastic-free district.

According to the details, While addressing a ceremony held at Altit Hunza, Aslam said,  “Hunza has become the first district in Asia to be plastic-bag free. The people of Hunza deserve congratulations for implementing the ban. I hope they will continue cooperating with the administration to keep the city clean and free of plastic bags.”

He also said that Hunza has been declared a plastic-free zone. In the next four months, the government will replicate it in Gilgit-Baltistan and Islamabad.

Deer in Thailand loses its life because of plastic pollution

Earlier, The food and drink manufacturing monster Nestle, has announced plans to switch from the plastic packaging to paper on its chocolate and wafer brand KitKat.

Nestle pledged to go completely plastic-free with their chocolate-covered wafer bar by 2025.

It is a part of their aim that KitKat will be wrapped in paper instead of the traditional glossy red plastic.

The Japanese strand of the global KitKat brand has already announced its new paper packaging this September.
