IMF President calls on PM Khan in Davos

Prime Minister Imran Khan called on President of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Ms. Kristalina Georgieva on Wednesday in Davos.

According to the details, Prime Minister had an important meeting with the President of IMF in Switzerland on the sidelines of the annual meeting of World Economic Forum (WEF) 2020.

Advisor to the Prime Minister on Finance Dr. Abdul Hafeez Sheikh, Special Assistant to PM Syed Zulfiqar Abbas Bukhari, Ambassador at Large on Investments Ali Jehangir Siddiqui, Governor State Bank of Pakistan Raza Baqir were also present.

Both Personages discussed the financial conditions of Pakistan and the sector of mutual interests between the country and the organization.

Earlier, the Premiere a moderated session Pakistan Country Strategy Dialogue at WEF Congress Center in Davos.

While addressing to the world dignitaries, PM Khan said Pakistan has lost more than 70,000 lives in war against terrorism. Now, we will not become part of any war, onwards.

The Prime Minister said Pakistan has played its part in trying to avert the conflict between Saudi Arabia and Iran. He said we are also actively participating to facilitate the Afghan peace process.

He said there is a chance of ceasefire in Afghanistan which will help us reach the Central Asian countries through the economic corridor.

Alluding to the economic situation of Pakistan, the Prime Minister said the first year remained focused on stabilization measures which helped us significantly cut the current account deficit.
