PM bans Faisal Vawda’s over his boot issue

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has banned Federal Minister Faisal Vawda from appearing on television talk shows for two weeks.

According to the details, The PM’s Special Assistant on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said on Thursday.

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said, Prime Minister Imran Khan has asked Federal Minister Faisal Vawda to explain his behavior in a talk show on private TV channel.

She also said in her tweet that PM bans participating in any talk show of Faisal Vawda for next two weeks

Earlier, Federal Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda said that Prime Minister Imran Khan “was unhappy” with his act of bringing a boot to a TV show.

Faisal Vawda, on January 14, mocked the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) unconditional support for the Army Act amendment bill.

The federal minister, who on a television talk show with (PPP) leader Qamar Zaman Kaira and PML-N representative Javed Abbasi startled all by placing a black boot that he had brought with him on top of the table.

Faisal Vawda ridiculed the PML-N party saying the party “lying down to kiss the boot”.

Yesterday, during talks with another private TV channel, the federal minister said that he entirely take responsibility for taking along a boot to a TV talk show.

The (PEMRA) has issued notice to anchorperson Kashif Abbasi’s show “OFF THE RECORD.”

The notice issued for broadcasting a willful attempt to demean a state institution by dragging it unnecessarily in a debate.
