Provincial Minister of Information Saeed Ghani on Wednesday raised the allegations at a press conference after the Sindh Assembly meeting.

According to details, Information Minister Saeed Ghani, while talking to reporters, said that a decision has been taken by the Sindh cabinet to replace IG Kalim Imam.

Saeed Ghani said that the Sindh cabinet has considered four names for the next IG, three names of them will be sent to the federation.

Provincial minister said, “There was a lack of coordination and trust between the police and Sindh government.”

The IG also issued irresponsible statements on media, he remarked.

The PPP leader said it has been the priority of the Sindh government to improve the performance of the police department.

He mentioned that there had been no progress on Bisma case. “The irresponsible behaviour of the police led to the Dua Mangi case.” The killing of innocent people by police firing has become a matter of shame for the government,” he added.

He criticized Kaleem Imam, saying that you are in such a big position and if you make such statements, it raises questions.

Sindh Cabinet approves removal of IG Kaleem Imam

Earlier on Wednesday, Sindh cabinet has issued the approval to surrender the responsibilities of the Provincial Police Chief Kaleem Imam to the federal government.

According to the details, The Sindh Cabinet has proposed the names of Ghulam Qadir Thebo, Mustaq Meher, Sanaullah Abbasi and Kamran Fazal for the post of Inspector General of Police. All the officers have served on various posts in the province and possess vast experience.

The minister of the provincial government said that four names have been recommended to the federal cabinet as the replacement.
