Naval Chief says we ready to respond to any aggression

Naval Chief Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi visited command center of Exercise Seaspark 2020 in Karachi on Wednesday.

During the visit Naval Chief said Pakistan Navy is ever ready to respond to any aggression.

The purpose of the visit was to review operational preparedness and operational plans of the coastal command.

The Naval Chief was briefed about operational activities during Exercise Seaspark and installation of assets.

He also visited cracks area and forward positions.

He appreciated security measures in cracks like difficult area.

Earlier this month, a delegation of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICC&I) led by President ICC&I M Ahmed visited Naval Headquarters, Islamabad & called on Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi.

Director General Public Relations Navy Rear Admiral M Arshid Javed told that the meeting is expected to explore avenues to promote self-reliance in maritime sector through shared collaboration of all stakeholders.

Earlier, a state of the art 2300 tons YARMOOK ship, built in Romania, has been inducted in Pakistan Navy.

According to a press release, the commissioning ceremony of 2300 Tons Corvette PNS YARMOOK held at Constanta Port, Romania.

Vice Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Muhammad Fayyaz Gilani graced the occasion as Chief Guest.

Speaking at the occasion, the Chief Guest underscored the importance of corvettes in the maritime domain.

He said that induction of these platforms will act as force multipliers in enhancing Navy’s capability of safeguarding maritime interests.

The Chief Guest also lauded professional competence of M/s DAMEN Shipyards and cooperation in delivering high-quality platforms in record time.

PNS YARMOOK is a state of the art electronic warfare, anti-ship and anti-air warfare platform.

Furthermore, it has cutting edge self-protection and terminal defence systems.

The ship capables to perform a variety of maritime operations, transport helicopter & Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) simultaneously.

Moreover, the second ship PNS TABUK of the same type will induct into Pakistan Navy by the mid of this year.

The commissioning ceremony was attended by Chief Naval Overseer (Romania), diplomats from friendly countries, senior management of M/s DAMEN Shipyards, Gorinchem & Galati and Officials of Ministry of Defense Production, Pakistan.
