PIA again suspends flight operations to China till March 31st

Pakistan International Airlines PIA has suspended flight operations to China till March 31st amid Coronavirus outbreak with Wuhan as mainland.
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) took the decision as a precautionary measure as the ongoing virus outbreak has claimed more than 2800 lives – mostly in China.
Earlier Pakistan closed its borders with Iran following an increase in coronavirus cases in the Islamic Republic.
Pakistan Railways ministry also closed its train services to Iran after coronavirus took 19 lives in the country.
Prime Minister’s Special Assistant for Health Dr Zafar Mirza said earlier that one case of Corona virus reported in Sindh while the other reported in federal areas.
The first case of the deadly coronavirus in Pakistan reported in Karachi’s private hospital, a spokesperson for the Sindh Health Department confirmed.
The 22-year-young male patient travelled to Iran where he acquired the virus.
He came back to Pakistan few days back in an airplane Media Coordinator to the Health and Population Welfare Minister Meeran Yousuf said in a statement.
The patient travelled from Iran to Karachi by plane on February 20.
The patient and his family have been placed in quarantine and the Health Department is in the process of examining all the passengers that he travelled with him.

It is to be noted that an ongoing outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, started in December 2019.
It was first identified in Wuhan, the capital of Hubei, China.
