Covid-19: Sindh Govt announces changes in Academic Year 2020

Sindh Government announced that new education year will commence from June 1, 2020 while the exams for class 1 to VIII will be conducted from June 1 to 15.

He mentioned that from June 15, the examinations of class 9th and 10th will begin while the results will be announced on 15 August 2020.

He elaborated that intermediate exams will start from July 6, while the results for class 12th will be announced on September 15.

The education minister said that the government has sealed some schools which opened despite provincial government’s orders.

He said action will be taken against those schools who will demand advance fees from students.

He highlighted the court has also refrained the school from collecting advance fees.

“Exams for the classes 1st to 8th will be held from June 1 to June 15. After the results, students will be promoted to next classes, said Ghani.

From June 15, exams for ninth and metric will start, ending on June 30, the minister explained. The result will be announced on August 15, he added.

Sindh government Spokesman and Advisor on Law, and Environment Barrister Murtaza Wahab has told that the number of coronavirus patients in the province has escalated to 76.

In a tweet, the advisor said, “50 people who had arrived in Sukkur from Taftaan have tested positive for the virus. So the total patients have reached 76 in Sindh.”

Out of these 76 patients, two have recovered and the remaining 74 are being kept in isolation, he added.
