Khawaja Brothers Granted Bail in Paragon Housing Society reference

Supreme Court (SC) has granted bail to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Khawaja Saad Rafique and his brother Khawaja Salman Rafique in Paragon Housing Society reference.

As per details, the bails approved on two surety bonds worth Rs 0.3 million each.

PML-N leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi talking to media after hearing suggested to shut anti graft NAB to run the country in a smooth way.

SC has stated that law taken as a joke, he added.

Meanwhile, Khawaja Saad Rafique said that bails in the corruption references prove that political revenge taken from the PML-N leaders .

Pakistan Muslim League Leader Ahsan Iqbal criticized NAB in his tweet;

He wrote:

Grant of bail to Kh Saad Rafique & Kh Salman Rafiq by Supreme Court is yet another proof of #NAB serving as a tool of victimisation against #PMLN at the behest of IK. SC called case mockery of law expressing serious concerns on either motive or capacity of NAB.

On April 26, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore had approved filing of a reference against the Khawaja brothers and Nadeem Zia for the alleged corruption.

Qaiser Amin Butt, the main accused in the case, was also included in the inquiry initiated by the NAB, and arrested in November last year.

Later, he agreed to turn approver against the Khawaja brothers and Zia.

On December 11, 2018, Khawaja brothers detained by the accountability watchdog after the Lahore High Court (LHC) rejected their bail plea.
