The Sindh government has made a decision to limit the congregational prayers in mosques to five people,  from March 27, 2020 till April 5, 2020 across the province in a wake of coronavirus spread.

 Sindh information minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah stated that the Sindh government has decided to impose a ban on congregational prayers after consulting doctors and ulemas belonging to every Islamic school of thought.

“Only three to five persons will be allowed to offer prayers in mosques,” he added.

Nasir Hussain said that mosques will remain open across the province and only five people, including the staff of the mosque, will be able to pray together inside the mosque.

Earlier today, Sindh government has released 1.18 billion rupees for the families affected by lockdown amid coronavirus pandemic  situation.

Adviser to Chief Minister of Sindh on Law, Anti-Corruption Establishment, and information said in a tweet “Sindh Govt has ordered for release of Rs 600 Million to be paid to 100,000 families registered with local Zakat Councils. Similarly, another Rs 580 Million have been released for distributing ration at the Union Committee level for helping families affected by lockdown”.
