The government has brought back more than 18,000 Pakistanis from various foreign shores.

Most of them – a little over 13,000 – returned on special flights operated by PIA. Another roughly 5,000 stranded Pakistanis came back on flights operated by other airlines.

Those who returned include 7,384 pilgrims.  A special Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight PK-786 brought back 286 more stranded Pakistanis to Karachi from Dubai on Tuesday.

Upon landing at the Karachi airport the flight  disinfected and the passengers went through a screening process and later shifted to the quarantine facility.

All the passengers and crew members have for now quarantined at a local hotel.

Earlier it reported that  national flag carrier would operate 103 flights to repatriate the stranded Pakistanis from the UK, UAE, France, Germany, Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Muscat, Malaysia and Oslo by May 9.

Moreover Foreign Office spokesperson Aisha Farooqui has said earlier that Pakistani embassies working in 100 countries are providing all possible support to overseas Pakistanis.
