Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said total number of coronavirus deaths reach 85, cases jump to 4956.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah presided over a Cabinet meeting here at CM House.

Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah said four people also died due to the virus. Sindh has lost 85 people to coronavirus. The CM said today 2733 coronavirus tests conducted, adding that in total, the province has conducted 43949 tests so far.

Shah further said that the government is increasing the number of beds at quarantine centres. The field hospital at Karachi Expo Centre will get 300 more beds to increase its capacity from 1,200 to 1,500, the CM said.

Sindh Cabinet also approved “Corona Ordinance”. The ordinance will now sent to governor for approval.

As part of the new ordinance, it will be mandatory for school owners to reduce fees by 20 percent. Besides, the rent of the houses will also be decreased.

Similarly, under the ordinance it has been mandatory that employers in private sector will not be able to sack or terminate their employees. In addition, the employers will also be liable to pay salaries to their employees on time.It will also be mandatory for power companies to reduce electricity bills in stages.

The “Corona Ordinance” has been introduced to provide relief to the masses as the country is facing economic crisis. The ordinance aims to guarantee job satisfaction to people and facilitate the poor segments of the society worst hit by the pandemic.
