Asif Ali Zardari stresses on the need of national unity in current times

In a telephonic conversation between former president Asif Ali Zardari and Pakistan Peoples Party leader Qamar Zaman Kaira, former president highlighted the need of national unity in the current times of crisis.

PPP Punjab leader Qamar Zaman Kaira, telephoned former president Asif Ali Zardari to inquire after his health. During the conversation, Asif Ali Zardari highlighted the need of national unity in the current times of crisis when country is facing pandemic.

Asif Ali Zardari said  “Coming days will be more critical for the country”, The former president regretted that government is busy in fighting with the opposition instead of coronavirus also known as COVID-19. “The incumbent federal government has ruined the national consensus”

Asif Ali Zardari said the Pakistan Peoples Party came into power in 2008, when the country was passing through very tough time and added that Swat operation initiated after building the national consensus. Asif Ali Zardari said 18th amendment was passed with an aim to give financial rights to the provinces and make the federation more stronger. Moreover, both discussed that the incumbent government wants to take back financial liberty of the provinces.

The number of confirmed coronavirus infection cases in the country has risen to 34,336 while 31 deaths reported during the last 24 hours.

Around 2,255 coronavirus also known as COVID-19 cases confirmed positive during the last twenty four hours and 11,848 cases were conducted. So far 13,225 cases registered in Punjab, 12,610 in Sindh, 5,021 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 2,158 in Balochistan, 759 in Islamabad, 475 in Gilgit Baltistan and 88 in Azad Kashmir.
