US announces $5 million to support Ehsas Emergency Cash Program

The United States has announced $5 million assistance to Pakistan to support Ehsaas Cash Programme, which was launched to help vulnerable communities affected by the Coronavirus lockdown.

According to details, the United States has partnered with Pakistan to reduce poverty in the Coronavirus pandemic. Announcing a 336-metric tonne food program for malnourished children, the US ambassador said that efforts were being made to protect vulnerable people from economic losses.

US Ambassador Paul W. Jones said that $5 million assistance will be provided to support the Ehsaas Cash Programme, while  15 million would be provided to Pakistan to combat Coronavirus.

Earlier, in a tweet on April 17, the US ambassador said that Pakistan and the United States can stop the spread of this deadly disease together to protect our loved ones & regain our prosperity and freedom.

He said that the United States was cooperating with Pakistan in preventing the spread of Coronavirus and taking care of the affected people.
