The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday throws out appeal to open parks and recreational spots across Sindh on the occasion of Eid.

LHC Chief Justice Qasim Khan has rejected the plea to permit the opening of parks and recreational spots — closed due to the coronavirus outbreak — on Eid-ul-Fitr.

“Do you ask me for a licence to kill children,” the top high court judge asked the litigant.

He said the Supreme Court is already hearing the suo motu case regarding the coronavirus pandemic.

The judge remarked: “The coronavirus situation has already become serious,” questioning how can the court give permission for opening parks.

Parks and recreational spots across Pakistan are shut since March to curb the spread of COVID-19 outbreak.

Punjab Governor, Chaudhary Muhammad Sarwar administered oath to him in a ceremony held at Governor’s House in Lahore.
