Man commits suicide after killing his wife in Karachi

A  man killed his wife and then committed suicide in a house near Farooq Azam Mosque in Metroville No. 4 within the limits of Site Area Police Station in West District of Karachi.

According to the preliminary investigation of the police, the man shot dead his wife and committed suicide.

According to SSP West Fida Hussain Januri, the man, Shams-ur-Rehman, was a cloth merchant who also suffered from gastrointestinal disease. Due to domestic issues, he was also suffering from the mental illness who first shot his wife twice. After which he shot himself and committed suicide.

A pistol was recovered from the crime scene, while three empty shells were also seized by police, SSP West said.

According to police, the statement of the deceased’s son has been recorded.

Rescue sources said that the bodies have been shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where an autopsy will be conducted.
