Newly-appointed Information Minister Shibli Faraz has criticized Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)’s chief Shehbaz Sharif for not attending National Assembly (NA) recent session which discussed Coronavirus situation.

While briefing media officials in Islamabad on Saturday, Shibli Faraz said, “His absence shows his elite mindset. He did not show up because he thinks it is only his health and life that matters.”

The minister claimed that other PML-N MNAs came to attend the session despite being sick and COVID-19 fears.

Faraz also said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has always treated everyone equally and considers himself the premier of the entire country.

Shibli Faraz has also responded to allegations that Prime Minister Imran khan is ‘incompetent’ and the government has no proper plans to tackle the dangerous Coronavirus situation.

“[The opposition] said we are incompetent. Are we incompetent because we want to end their corruption?” he questioned.

He further added that the country could “only win the war against coronavirus pandemic with unity”.

He also added that the government has worked according to a roadmap to deal with the pandemic.

“PM announced Rs8 billion relief package for the masses and allocated Rs480 billion for the economy. Rs570 billion was kept to provide relief to the people and through the Ehsaas Programme Rs104 billion was distributed to 85,000 families,” Faraz added.
