The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has declared that Crashed Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) plane’s pilot didn’t follow Air Traffic Controller (ATC) instructions.

According to the details, CAA said in a letter to PIA that the pilot of the crashed aircraft did not follow the instructions of the ATC.

The CAA has alleged that the pilot of the national flag carrier plane had violated landing protocols. CAA said the pilot disregarded air traffic control’s (ATC) direction to lower the altitude.

In a letter to PIA, CAA asks  “ensure avoidance of recurrence of such a situation in the interest of flight safety”. The CAA letter said the duty approach controller had raised a non-compliance report in respect of the pilot of PK-8303. It claimed that the pilot was warned twice about his speed and high altitude for the approach but he did not follow.

The PIA plane – Airbus A-320, carrying an estimated 99 people on board, crashed into a residential area near Karachi airport on May 22, resulting in 97 deaths.

During the ill-fated flight, the pilots made a first landing attempt and the plane briefly touched the ground multiple times, before attempting to land for a second time.

The Sindh health department said that 91 of the 97 bodies of plane crash victims had been identified and handed over to their families.

The French agency, BEA, confirmed on its Twitter account that the FDR and CVR data of the PIA  Airbus 320 aircraft was successfully downloaded over the request of Pakistan’s Aircraft Accident Investigation Board (AAIB).
