Eminent Educationist and  Vice Chancellor of Sukkur Institute of Business Administration Professor Nisar Ahmed Siddiqui has passed away in Karachi at the age of 76.

According to reports, Siddiqui was suffering from heart and kidney problems and was admitted to the hospital last week, where he died at 6 am today. He would be laid to rest in Khairpur.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Prof. Nisar Ahmed Siddiqui.

In his statement, Murad Ali Shah said, The demise of Nisar Ahmed Siddiqui is a great loss to the education sector. Syed Murad Ali Shah prayed for the forgiveness of the deceased.

Nisar Siddiqui’s services to improve the education system will always be remembered, said the Chief Minister. “May Allah bless the deceased with a high position Jannah, and grant patience to his family.”

Mr. Siddiqui obtained his full time Masters in Economics from University of Sindh, Jamshoro. Initially he worked as a school teacher teaching Mathematics, Economics and English language for ten years. He then obtained another Masters degree in Education from University of Sindh Jamshoro. His academic achievement was rewarded with a Gold Medal.

Mr. Siddiqui then attempted in the Competitive Examination of Civil Services of Pakistan, a prerequisite for entrance in the top-level management of Government of Pakistan. He came out with flying colors and started his career as a Civil Servant in the Government of Pakistan. He served in various top-level capacities such as Deputy Commissioner of the District, Commissioner of the Division and Home Secretary.

He proceeded to the USA in 1987 and did his MBA with major in Finance from Boston University. At Boston he found a place in the Dean’s list for his excellent academic performance. After returning from the USA apart from his government job he started part-time teaching at IBA Karachi. He taught Economics, Finance and Research Methodology.
