Sindh Health Minister warns significant increase in COVID-19 cases

Provincial Minister of Sindh for Health Azra Fazal Pechuho has said that the novel coronavirus testing capacity has increased, the government is doing Corona test for free.

In a recent interview, Azra Fazal Pechuho said, Private hospitals are charging Corona testing fee up to Rs 8,000, while the Sindh government is conducting the test for free.

“There is a fear that corona cases may increase by October, so we are increasing the number of ICUs and high-dependence units,”

Azra Pechoho said the Sindh government is working day and night tirelessly to improve the healthcare sector.

3,892 new coronavirus cases have surfaced in the country over the last twenty-four hours, taking the total tally to 188,926.

These include 69536 in Punjab, 72656 in Sindh, 23388 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 9634 in Balochistan, 11483 in Islamabad, 1337 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 892 in Azad Kashmir.

The death toll from the virus stands at 3755 with 60 deaths reported over the last twenty-four hours. 23,380 corona tests carried out during this period.

77,754 patients have so far recovered from the disease.
