The next lunar eclipse around the world will be observed on June 5 Friday and Saturday night.

According to the report, this lunar eclipse is also known as the penumbral lunar eclipse and will be observed all over the world including Pakistan on Friday and Saturday night which will start from Friday night and will end in the early hours of Saturday.

The Meteorological Department has said that June 5 lunar eclipse in Pakistan will start at 10:46 local time and it will end at 12:25 pm.

Astronomers across the world have termed the penumbral lunar eclipse as “Strawberry Moon Eclipse” as the full moon of June is known as the Strawberry Moon.

What is a lunar eclipse?

The shadow of the earth that falls on the surface of the moon due to the rotation of the earth between the earth’s moon and the sun and the moon becomes dark. Lunar eclipses are sometimes partial and sometimes complete. It depends on its rotation.

The earth and the moon are dark. And they both receive light from the sun. The earth revolves around the sun and the moon revolves around the earth.

They come face to face twice a year, casting a shadow over one another. If a shadow falls on the moon then it is called lunar eclipse and if it falls on the sun then it is called a solar eclipse.
