PTI leaders, including Firdous Shamim Naqvi, demanded an end to K Electric’s monopoly and announced a two-hour sit-in in Karachi.

According to details, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and Leader of the Opposition in the Sindh Assembly Firdous Shamim Naqvi has said during a press conference that crackdown is being carried out in Karachi.

Firdous Shamim Naqvi said that K Electric cannot take more than 600 MW from the national grid, K-Electric has suppressed and over-billed. Its case is not right, another way has to be found for Karachi’s power system.

He said that another company should be brought in Karachi to compete with K-Electric.

Announcing the sit-in, the PTI leader said that PTI would hold a sit-in daily in front of Electric from 3 pm to 5 pm.

He demanded that the system of over-billing should be abolished and the contract of K-Electric should also be made public.

Earlier, K Electric has announced an increase in load shedding, after which power went out across Karachi.

The company has announced to increase load shedding on the excuse of shortage of fuel oil.

With the announcement of K-Electric, power was also cut off in the areas except load shedding in the city. Load shedding in Nazimabad, PIB Colony, Shadman Town, PECHS and Federal B Area also caused urban bubble.
