Pakistan has so far reported 2,980 Coronavirus cases and 83 deaths over the past 24 hours, taking the national tally of cases to 237,489 and fatalities to 4,922.

2,980 new cases detected after 21,951 tests were conducted in past 24 hours, according to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC).

91,602 COVID-19 patients are undergoing treatment while 140,965 patients have recuperated from the disease thus far.

Province-Wise Details

97,626 cases recorded in Sindh so far, 83,595 in Punjab, 28,681 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 10,919  in Balochistan, 13, 650 in Islamabad, 1,419 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and 1,595 in Gilgit Baltistan.

Deaths and Tests Conducted

The death toll from the virus has reached 4,922 with 83 more deaths reported over the last twenty-four hours. 21,951 corona tests so far carried out during this period.

Some 400,000 new cases of Covid-19 reported over the weekend and the new coronavirus pandemic shows no sign of slowing down, the World Health Organization (WHO) said.

“The outbreak is accelerating and we’ve clearly not reached the peak of the pandemic,” WHO director-general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus told.

Countries Running Out Of Life-Saving HIV Drugs, Says WHO

A number of countries globally say they are at risk of running out of life-saving AIDS drugs because of disruptions to supply lines and other problems caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the World Health Organization (WHO) said.

Twenty-four out of those 73 nations have already reported critically low supplies of the vital antiretroviral drugs, the agency said.

Moreover “The findings of this survey are deeply concerning,” the WHO’s director general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said in a statement at the International AIDS conference.
