Chief Executive Officer K-electric Syed Moonis Abdullah Alvi assured that the company will go into surplus in 2022.

According to details, CEO K-electric Syed Moonis Alvi spoke to BOL News anchor Kiran Naz in the show ‘Bas Boht Hogaya’. The anchor asked him when the matter of shortage of electricity will be solved in Karachi. He responded that the company will go into surplus in 2022, and it will continue to increase every year.

Host Kiran Naz has started a movement named ‘Karachi ko bijli do’ (provide electricity to Karachi). She has been running the moment for 14 days.

He told BOL News that the pace at which the federation is working with, will hopefully bring better consequences.

Apart from that, Mr. Alvi said that he talked to the federal Minister Asad Umar, who had said that 2100 megawatt electricity will be added in the system in 2023.

Furthermore, he briefed that the federal government has announced to provide aid at a large scale a few months ago.

In 2015-16 when the system of the institution was being worked on, at that time, 6,000 MW of electricity was not to be supplied to K Electric by the federation.

Furthermore, he explained that a plant has been delayed by the federal government, Karachi people have faced a shortage of electricity due to delay. The federal government has approved that power plant this year.
