Massive broke out at a factory at the Export Processing Zone in Landhi area of Karachi city on Sunday evening.
According to the details, fire brigade spokesperson said the blaze initially broke out at a plastic manufacturing factory which later engulfed the surrounding three factories of cardboard, plastic and textile as well.
At least 9 fire tenders of city fire brigade and one snorkel were taking part in extinguishing the fire.
However, more fire tenders are on the way to speed up the process.
Media reports said that due to intensity of the fire, first floor of a two-storey factory collapsed. The fire turned raw material and other equipment worth millions of rupees into ashes.
Fire brigade spokesperson said that some foreigners also in the factory but they, along with everyone else, safely evacuated and no loss of life reported.
In addition to this, a heavy contingent of the law enforcers, including police and Rangers, also reached the Exports Processing Zone, Landhi to help the firefighters.
The Managing Director of Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) said that the emergency measures implemented in all hydrants and 20 water tankers dispatched to help out the firefighting teams.
The water supply to the fire brigades will be continued until the blaze is completely extinguished.
Furthermore, according to the Sindh Rangers spokesperson, the troops of the Sindh Rangers immediately reached the area to participate in the search and rescue work.
In January this year, one person killed after fire at a factory in Karachi’s Korangi.
The factory is near Chamra Chowrangi. Three fire brigade vehicles were at the scene.
