Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry is confident about producing Pakistan’s own smart cricket balls.

Chaudhry believes that the Sialkot-based manufacturers, famous for producing the finest quality sports goods, are more than capable of producing such a cricket ball locally.

The Federal Minister pitched this idea in response to a tweet shared by the renowned host, Fakhr-e-Alam.

Quoting Fakhr-e-Alam’s tweet, Fawad Chaudhry urged the manufacturers in Sialkot to replicate the idea and develop made in Pakistan smart balls.

He also said that the sports companies from Sialkot should partner with engineering and technology universities for the project.

The idea is indeed a good one considering Sialkot is already exporting world-class sports equipment to all parts of the world.

It enables data and information to flow from inside the ball that’s being bowled. The chip inside the core transmits information from the ball back to a phone/tablet app.

Furthermore, the chip can currently measure the speed and revolutions of the ball at different stages of its journey from the hand of a bowler.
