ISPR pays homage to the bravery, selfless devotion of Major Tufail Mohammad Shaheed

Major Tufail Mohammad Shaheed, the recipient of Nishan-e-Haider, is remembered on his 62nd death anniversary on Saturday, August 08.

Inter-Services Public Relation (ISPR) media wing took to Twitter to pay homage to Major Tufail Mohammad Shaheed for his bravery and selfless devotion to the motherland which led to him paying the ultimate price for the defence of the country.

However, the Tweet read, “Tribute to bravery and resilience of Major Tufail Mohammad Shaheed Nishan – E – Haider. Despite being mortally wounded during combat, he completed the mission and embraced martyrdom setting noble precedence of valor and determination. #OurMartyrsOurHeroes”

Major Tufail Shaheed was born in Hoshiarpur city of eastern Punjab, on 22nd July in 1914. In August 1958, he was assigned to launch an offensive against Indian forces in the area of Lakshmipur. Major Tufail faced heavy resistance from the enemy but carried on with his mission and embraced martyrdom the same day.

He was awarded Nishan-e-Haider, Pakistan’s highest military award for his courage and bravery.
