The government demanded the extradition of Shahbaz Sharif’s son-in-law Ali Imran from Britain.

According to details, the government has written an official letter to the Central Authority International Criminal Unit of the British Home Ministry regarding the extradition of Ali Imran, son-in-law of President PML-N Shahbaz Sharif.

The letter to the British authorities details the allegations of corruption against Ali Imran, while Ali Imran’s extradition was requested on the basis of mutual cooperation.

The letter said that Ali Imran should be handed over on the basis of mutual cooperation without an extradition agreement.

British officials say Pakistan’s application will be considered in due course.

Government sources say that after the trial of Ali Imran on the British newspaper Daily Mail, his demand for deportation to Britain has nothing to do with it.

It may be recalled that in its article, the Daily Mail had leveled allegations of corruption against Ali Imran and Ikram Naveed of Earthquake Relief and Reconstruction Authority (ERRA). The case was filed in the court.

It should be noted that Ali Imran, who is wanted by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on corruption charges, is currently residing in the UK.
