‘Pakistan Worked Hard to bring COVID-19 Cases down’

Bill Gates Acknowledges Pakistan’s Efforts In Managing Pandemic

American Business Magnate, Microsoft founder, and philanthropist Bill Gates has lauded Pakistan’s efforts in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.

In an interview with US television, American Business Magnate compared the Covid-19 situation in Pakistan with Europe and acknowledged Pakistan’s flattened COVID-19 curve.

The coronavirus situation in Pakistan was like Europe, but they worked hard to bring virus cases down, said Bill Gates in an interview.

Gates endorsed Pakistan’s COVID-19 policies and said India by contrast, doesn’t look great. “The Covid-19 situation in Indian is similar to that of South America.”

It is pertinent to mention here that coronavirus cases have witnessed a massive decline in Pakistan in recent days and the government today (Monday) has lifted almost all restrictions.

Coronavirus Cases in Pakistan 

After more people recovered in the past 24 hours from the novel coronavirus in the country, the number of active cases has dropped to 17,799.

According to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), Pakistan reported 539 new coronavirus cases and fifteen deaths in the single day taking the national tally of infections to 284,660 and fatalities to 6,097.

As many as 20,495 samples tested for Covid-19 during the previous 24 hours, out of which 539 turned out positive.

Of the total Covid-19 patients, 260,764 have recuperated from the disease so far while the number of active cases stands at 17,799.

Furthermore Out of 1,859 ventilators earmarked for critically-ill COVID patients, only 149 are in use.

More than 2.1 million tests conducted across the country thus far, leading to the emergence of 284,660 positive cases.
