On Wednesday, the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) has issued a new travel advisory for the international passengers to reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19 and to keep the passengers and crew safe from the novel virus.

According to the PCAA spokesperson the new standard operating procedures (SOPs) will come into effect from October 5th till 31st of December.

According to the SOPs, all the passengers must have to download the ‘Pass Track App’ in their smartphones from the google play and apple store.

Passengers who do not have smartphones will have to enter their data on the website before traveling.

The spokesperson said that all the passengers who will be traveling from category B countries will be required to have a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR not older than 96 hours before boarding for Pakistan. He added, passengers, traveling from category A country do not require to get themselves tested.

It is pertinent to mention here that CAA had warned the airlines of strict actions ob September 18, over the continuous violations of SOPs and issued a fresh travel advisory.

According to the previous travel advisory, it was mandatory for the passenger to take the RT-PCR test before boarding the flight without following social distancing precautions during the seating arrangement.

However, those airlines who did not make the RT-PCR test mandatory would have to keep the adjacent seat vacant. On the other hand, passengers who will have a negative PCR report conducted before 72 hours of the departure will not have to follow the seating restrictions.
