Federal Cabinet meets today to review current situation in Pakistan

The Federal Cabinet will meet today in the federal capital Islamabad with Prime Minister Imran Khan in the chair to review the current situation in the country.

According to the details, the federal cabinet may give a go-ahead for the proposed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and it’s signing between the Ministry of Industry and IT of China and the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication (MoIT&T) of Pakistan.

Chinese Embassy had already shared a draft MoU with Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), which then shared the draft MoU with MoIT&T and intimated that the Chinese side has proposed to sign it.

The draft MoU was viewed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Law and Justice and, so far, the MoFA has communicated no objection to the signing of MoU while the ministry of law has vetted the draft from its legal point of view.

Furthermore a wide range of issues ranging from the overall political and economic situation of the country, revocation of fake licenses of pilots,  constitutional amendment bill-2020 to gang-rape incident on the motorway will come under discussion in the cabinet meeting.

In addition to this, The matter on cancellation of suspicious licenses of Pilots will come under discussion, and amendment bill-2020 will be presented in the meeting. The summaries on the appointment of CEOs of National Disaster Management and National Fertilizer Corporation will be placed in the meeting. The summary for the appointment of a member of the Competition Commission is also part of the agenda.

Moreover, the federal cabinet will decide over the recommendation of hiking electricity tariff up to Rs2.89 per unit for K-Electric approved by the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC).
