The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has sought the help of the United Nations (UN) agencies to assess the flood-affected areas.

According to the report, the NDMA has started estimating the damage in the flood-affected areas in Pakistan.

The NDMA requested assistance from UN agencies to assess the damage, while the PDMA and relevant departments will also assist the National Disaster Management Authority in estimating.

According to the NDMA spokesperson, 35 tonnes of rations were distributed to 8,000 affected families in collaboration with World Food, while 440 tonnes of wheat was delivered to the affected areas with the help of WFP.

The NDMA  stated that 11,000 tarpaulins, 11,000 tents, 10,000 ration packets, 2,000 mosquito nets and 100 tonnes of clean drinking water were distributed in the flood-affected areas.

According to the NDMA spokesperson, three lifeboats and medicines were dispatched to the flood-hit areas while the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) provided 1,000 tarpaulins, 2,000 blankets and other essential items to the flood victims.
