Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has decided to further cut its expenditures on Wednesday as it decided to call back the staff deputed in Britain following the suspension of flight operations.

PIA’s management has decided to cut unnecessary expenditures by calling back staff and officers after the flight operations temporarily suspended in the United Kingdom. As per detials, PIA had already called the staff back from Europe after the flights were suspended due to coronavirus.

According to sources, the PIA staff deputed in Europe, including Milan, Oslo, Copenhagen, and Barcelona had been asked to come back to Pakistan. This step will benefit PIA to cut down its expenses.

The sources further revealed that staff members of PIA have been called back from London, Birmingham, Manchester, and Bradford. It is said that almost 19 officers and staff members are currently in the UK stations.

The PIA spokesperson said,

“PIA would save millions of British pounds after the return of its staff. The airline has also issued orders for the return of an engineer and a passenger sales manager from London.”

Under the alternative plans, PIA continued its flight operations to the UK and Europe for the passengers, despite the suspension.

On Tuesday, Pakistan International Airlines’ management had decided no to file a petition against the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) for suspending PIA’s flights.

It is pertinent to mention here that EASA had suspended all the PIA’s flight operations to and from Europe in June following a fake pilot license scandal in Pakistan for six months.
