Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday has given the approval to replace Inspector General of Police (IGP) Shoaib Dastagir.

According to the details, the high-profile replacement has been made after the Punjab government faced an unusual situation after rifts developed between the newly appointed CCPO Lahore Umar Sheikh and IGP Dastagir over action against land grabbers.

Dastagir would be the 5th police chief in two years to be replaced in Punjab.

Earlier, CCPO Umar Sheikh offered to apologize to IGP Dastagir after an alleged dispute between the two.
