Chairman Pak Sarzmeen Party Mustafa Kamal has said that the Supreme Court should intervene and hold local body elections in Karachi.

Addressing a press conference in Karachi, he said the issues of Karachi were hitting headlines and was at the top of the government’s priority list, but all in vain. Karachi is being neglected again and it will be looked at when another disaster befalls it.

He said that Karachi pays more taxes than other cities of the country and Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Gulzar Ahmed had also taken notice of the problems of Karachi but the roads and streets in Karachi are still dilapidated and there is no one to ask. There is still water in many markets in Karachi.

Mustafa Kamal said that we were fed up with the local government and we are also disappointed with the Sindh government. The citizens of Karachi have high hopes from the Army Chief.

Mustafa Kamal complained that Prime Minister Imran Khan already read out the package for Karachi, however still the implementation process getting delayed.

He added that the very next day after the announcement of the Karachi package by Prime Minister Imran Khan, Pakistan Peoples Party complained of not getting any fund.

Raising objections to the administrators in Karachi, he said that corrupt administrators have been appointed in the city so they can have control on the metropolis.

Therefore, the Supreme Court should intervene and hold local body elections, said Kamal.

Chairman PSP Mustafa Kamal said that talks of APC have been going on for some days now. He questioned that with what reason the hosts of APC are criticizing the government?

He said that PPP has powers under the 18th amendment but PPP has even cut off the water supply to people’s homes. Despite this, PPP is now demanding more powers.

“For God’s sake, avoid further destruction of Karachi,” said Kamal.
