The arrest of Capt(rt) Safdar was done according to law and the investigation will be impartial. Due process will be followed in all respect, said Sindh Police on their official Twitter handle.

Capt (retd) Muhammad Safdar, the PML-N leader arrested on charges of violating the sanctity of Quaid’s mausoleum, has been granted bail.

It may be recalled that Captain (R) Safdar was arrested from a private hotel this morning while his wife and PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz had said that the police broke the door and took Captain (R) Safdar into custody from the room.

He was later produced in the City Court under tight security from Karachi’s Aziz Bhatti police station for remand in the court of Judicial Magistrate Eastern Minister Hussain Memon, where a large number of PML-N leaders and workers, lawyers and There are other people.

PML-N and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf lawyers are also present in the court and chanted harsh slogans against each other.

After presenting Captain (retd) Safdar before the court, the police sought his 14-day physical remand while Muhammad Safdar was managed to seek bail.

The court reserved judgment after completion of arguments. Shortly after, the court granted reserved bail to Captain (retd) Safdar in exchange of a bond of Rs 1 lakh.

Captain (retd) Safdar was released after the lawyers deposited cash on bail bonds.
