On Wednesday, the National Accountability Court (NAB) summoned Khawaja Asif, Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N) leader, in the Iqama case.

Asif has been summoned because he held an Iqama during his tenure being a Federal Minister.

He has been asked to appear before the NAB office in Lahore by the accountability bureau with a foreign company’s managing director.

MD Ilyas Khan has also been directed to appear before the combined investigation team by the authority tomorrow (8th October).

According to the NAB notice, Khawaja Asif has been directed to submit other details including salary taken and it has been said that Khawaja Asif has been directed to submit the job application given to the company.

The NAB has also directed Asif to submit the Iqama agreement.

It is pertinent to mention here that Khawaja Asif already facing a NAB probe in the Sialkot Kent housing scandal.

According to the details, the PML-N leader had also appeared before the NAB on July 3.

The PML-N leader on June 26 had skipped NAB appearance in the Kent View Housing Society case.

A lawyer appeared before the bureau on behalf of Khawaja Asif stating that his client can’t appear today because he will be attending a post-budget session in the National Assembly. However, he had submitted the relevant documents to the NAB.

The former minister was accused of illegally building a private housing scheme. He is required to provide the money trail of the funds invested in the scheme.
