One more doctor from Jinnah Hospital succumbs to deadly Coronavirus

Amidst the increasing Coronavirus cases in Pakistan, a doctor from Jinnah Hospital, Karachi succumbed to the deadly virus. He was the the former head of the ENT department.

According to Jinnah Hospital chief Dr Seemi Jamali, Dr Usman passed away at 2am last night.

She told that Dr Usman had contracted COVID-19 few days back and was on ventilator at a private hospital on Stadium Road due to his deteriorating health conditions.

However, Dr Usman had retired from Jinnah Hospital a year ago, Dr Seemi added.

On the other hand, thirteen more people died from coronavirus-related complications in the country over the past 24 hours.

The death toll has surged to 6,638 with total 322,452 positive cases.

According to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), 641 fresh infections surfaced when 32,465 samples were tested during this period.

Around 306,640 people have recovered from the disease so far across Pakistan with addition of 805 recoveries recorded.

There are a total of 9,174 active cases of Covid-19 in the country. Of the total patients under treatment, 567 are said to be in critical condition.

A total of 39,43,734 tests have been conducted so far.

So far, Sindh has reported 141,474 cases, Punjab 101,425, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 38,565, Balochistan 15,644, Islamabad 17,913, Azad Jammu and Kashmir 3,398, and Gilgit Baltistan 4,033.
