Orange Line Metro Train to run from October 25

On Tuesday, the Chief Minister of Punjab, Usman Buzdar announced to run Orange Line Metro Train (OLMT) from October 25.

According to the details, the CM ordered to start the OLMT operations from October 25.

In addition, Buzdar also directed to complete preparations for all the concerned departments regarding running the Orange metro train.

The Punjab government has approved the fare of OLMT at Rs40 as Buzdar had earlier rejected the proposal of Rs50 fare.

It should be mentioned here that earlier in September, Lt. General retired Asim Saleem Bajwa, Chairman China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Authority had announced vacancies of different categories for Lahore’s Orange Line project.

The Orange Line project:

The Orange line project is the fastest transit system under construction in Lahore, Punjab’s capital. . The line will span 27.1 km (16.8 mi) with 25.4 km (15.8 mi) elevated and 1.72 km (1.1 mi) underground.

The train is expected to handle 250,000 passengers daily and will be served by 26 stations.
