The Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) has decided to hold a public rally on October 16 on GT Road in Gujranwala at all costs.

Former premier Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said while addressing a press conference in Gujranwala on Wednesday that the government did not give permission to PDM to hold a rally in Jinnah Stadium, thus PDM will hold a rally on GT Road.

“Neither the police nor the containers could stop them from holding rallies,” said Khaqan Abbasi.

He went on to say that the PTI government failed miserably to provide relief to the people. He highlighted that increasing inflation and unemployment in the country has made lives difficult. On the other hand, the poverty rate in the country has increased drastically.

PML-N leader Ahsan Iqbal, while speaking on the occasion accused the government of arresting their leaders. He maintained that PDM leaders’ houses are being raided by police officials to pressurize them from holding rallies against the government.

He added that people around the country will participate in the rally in large numbers despite all odds.

It is pertinent to mention here that earlier PDM had announced to hold a public rally on October 18 in Karachi as part of the campaign against the ruling government.

PDM will also hold public gathering and rallies on October 25 in Quetta and November 22 and 30 in Peshawar and Multan, respectively.
