PM Imran extend his wishes on Azerbaijan’s independence day

Prime Minister Imran Khan has extended his wishes and congratulated the people of Azerbaijan on the country’s Independence Day.

Taking to Twitter, Imran Khan said:

“I extend warmest felicitations to @presidentaz & fraternal people of #Azerbaijan on their Independence Day. We pay tribute to Azeri forces valiantly defending their territorial integrity.  Pakistan stands with Azerbaijan in its quest to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh issue as per UNSC resolutions.”

Earlier commenting on the clashes in Azerbaijan and Armenia, the Foreign Office spokesman said that Pakistan stands by Azerbaijan and supports its right to self-defence.

A statement issued by the Foreign Office said that Pakistan is concerned about the tensions in Nagorno-Karabakh, Pakistan has reiterated its support for Azerbaijan.

The Foreign Office spokesman said that Pakistan was concerned about the deteriorating security situation in the Nagorno-Karabakh region and strongly condemned the shelling by the Armenian forces on the civilian population of Azerbaijan.
