Saeed Ghani denies any role of Sindh Govt in Safdar’s arrest

Following the Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) leader Captain (R) Safdar’s arrest on Monday morning, Pakistan Peoples Party leader Saeed Ghani said that the arrest was not carried out on the instructions of the Sindh government.

Taking to his Twitter handle, Pakistan Peoples Party leader and Education Minister of Sindh Saeed Ghani said the arrest was not carried out on the instructions of the Sindh government.

He alleged that this was being done to ‘create a rift among Pakistan Democratic Movement’.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah also dismissed news of the arrest being made on the provincial government’s orders.

Captain (R) Safdar Arrested

Safdar was arrested by the police from a Karachi hotel where he along with his wife Maryam was staying for allegedly violating the sanctity of the mausoleum of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammed Ali Jinnah.

The case was registered against PML-N leaders, including party vice president Maryam Nawaz, Safdar and 200 others at the Brigade Police Station for sloganeering at the Quaid’s mausoleum.

PML-N vice president wrote on Twitter. “Police broke my room door at the hotel I was staying at in Karachi and arrested Capt. Safdar.”
