Sindh Govt Increases Gilgit-Baltistan, AJK Students Seats In Universities

The Sindh government has decided to increase the number of seats for students of Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir in universities.

According to details, a meeting of the Universities and Board was held under the chairmanship of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah.

The meeting was attended by Legal Adviser Murtaza Wahab, Principal Secretary Sajid Jamal Abro and Secretary University and Board Ilmuddin.

The Chief Minister was informed in the meeting that there are a total of 25 public sector universities in Sindh, out of which 162 seats are allotted to Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

The meeting decided to increase the number of seats for Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir to 58 in 9 universities of Sindh. Permission will be sought from PMDC and HEC to increase seats in the remaining 16 public sector universities.

The following are the universities in which the seats of Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan have been increased.

4 more seats of Azad Kashmir and 7 more seats of Gilgit-Baltistan have been increased in Sindh University, 2 more seats of Azad Kashmir and 2 more seats of Gilgit-Baltistan have been increased in NED University.

3 seats of Azad Kashmir and 3 seats of Gilgit-Baltistan were added in Dow Medical University while 3 more seats of Azad Kashmir and 2 more seats of Gilgit-Baltistan were added in Mehran University.

Dawood Engineering University has been given 3 more seats in Azad Kashmir and 3 more seats in Gilgit-Baltistan while one more seat has been added in Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan have been added 2-2 more seats in Shah Abdul Latif University. 4 more seats of Gilgit-Baltistan have been increased in Tando Jam Agricultural University.

Karachi University has added 8 seats in Azad Kashmir and the same number in Gilgit-Baltistan.

The Sindh Chief Minister said that this decision of the government would benefit the students of Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan in the field of education.
