Karachi Reimposes Smart Lockdown Amid Growing Fears Of Virus

A smart lockdown has been imposed in Gulshan Division in view of the growing threats of Coronavirus in Karachi.

According to details, instructions have also been issued to the police to install smart lockdown in Gulshan Division in Karachi while the instructions have been given by Assistant Commissioner Michelle Naeem.

Later, the police of Shahra-e-Faisal, Aziz Bhatti, Gulistan-e-Jauhar and Gulshan-e-Iqbal police stations have started carrying out the operation.

According to the orders, all hotels, restaurants, wedding halls and markets will be closed till 10 pm.

Hospitals, medical stores and public health care providers will be exempt from the ban, but the smart lockdown will remain in effect until November 2.

According to the order, masks must be worn in all confined spaces, while in public transport, bus stops and markets.

All amusement parks and parks will be closed at 6 p.m., but parks with jogging tracks will be exempt.

Note that a new advisory issued by the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC) says that every citizen who goes to public gatherings in crowded places outside the home must wear a mask.

The advisory instructed the provinces to ensure implementation of SOPs for wearing masks, especially when going to markets, crowded places, public gatherings, shopping malls, public transport and restaurants.

The said decisions of NCOC / SOPs came into force from, October 29.
